We Need To Have A Serious Discussion…

On July 11, 2010 something absolutely amazing was created.* Someone whom I’m lucky to be related to, took it upon himself to lovingly craft this item for the sole purpose of sharing it with his family. I’m convinced it was divinely inspired as well because of all the happy faces and contented noises that followed it’s revealing. (Not to mention the fact that I’m still thinking of this event over a month later).

What could I possibly be so grateful in having the opportunity to partake in you ask? Here, let me show you:

This. This beautiful, luscious, two-tiered dark chocolate bit of heaven. Wow. I knew I was smitten when I was allowed the honor of licking the frosting bowl sampling the frosting. It just may have been the best I have ever tried and the anticipation of actually eating a piece of cake with said frosting made me want to rush through my dinner like an impatient child.

I was somehow able to control myself during the entire meal without letting my inner excitement about dessert  be shown. When the magical moment came to consume the cake I was not disappointed and am not embarrassed to admit that I even asked to take a piece home(well, sister’s house anyway) to share. No really, I did share it, promise!

Maddy loved it so much she had to take at least 20 pictures of it’s beauty. Everyone who tasted it loved it, except for my Mom who is not a fan of dark chocolate. (I’m sure something is wrong with her taste  buds. We’re going to have to get her tested…)

Now that I am home, over my sickness and have my appetite back, I’m “patiently” waiting for my wonderful FIL to forward me the recipe for this dangerous concoction so I can attempt to recreate it. Of course when I do receive it, I’ll be sure to post it here as well. I wouldn’t tempt you all like this and not share. That just wouldn’t be nice. At all. For all of you who are being so good and eating all healthy right now. . . my apologies. And my condolences, because you are seriously missing out.

*The date is not overly important; I only noticed because of the handy date feature on all my Father-In-Law’s pictures.
